Armed with a Redsox Nation season ticket pack, Scott and the goons ventured to New Britain Connecticut to see the opening pitches of the Rockcats 07-08 season. Although the cats lost their first two games of the year, it was a thrill to get out to the ballpark nice and early this year. Both starting pitchers for the Portland Seadogs are top prospects in the Redsox scouting system. On friday night Justin Masterson took the mound against the Rockcats on opening night and pitched 4 shutout innings giving up only 3 hits. He probably could have pitched deeper into the game except there was a power outage in the first inning that delayed the game for 45 minutes. In the 2nd game, Michael Bowden pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Bowden's fastball was in the mid 90's and many of the Rockcat hitters fouled off pitches. Check out the pics from the games!
